Q. My Water Champ Controller runs it's
normal cycle then starts all over and runs the cycle again?
A.
This occurs when more than one start time is used. Most commonly because someone was
under the impression that each Zone had it's own start time. This is not the case. Start Times
are for your programs (A, B, C, D, or S). For example, if all of your valves are assigned to
one program (A), then they will each run once for every Start Time you give to program A. If
you set start time 1 in program A they will each run once, if you set Start Time 2 in program
A, then they will each run twice. Remember that the valves will not all activate at the Start
Times you have set, zone 1 will come on first, then when it has completed it's run, zone 2 will
run, then zone 3, etc. If your controller runs longer than expected, the other possibility is
that the controller was set to run for 10 Hours (10:00) rather than 10 minutes (00:10) in the
zone Run Time.
Q. Where do I install the battery in my
WaterChamp?
A.
The R- & WC- series WaterChamp controllers are equipped with a factory-installed 3-volt
Lithium. They will retain the current time and all programming in the event of a power outage.
The LC- & WCP- Series controllers have a removable panel on the lower portion of the front
faceplate, that once removed, reveals the connection for a 9volt battery (not included).
Q. What is the difference between
your Champion Brass actuator and your plastic actuator?
A.
Our Champion Classic and AA series brass actuators are rated for a maximum pressure of 150 psi
and our PAA & PCL actuators are rated for 125 psi. Also, Our PAA & PCL actuators are
constructed of a glass reinforced nylon composite and have a life expectancy of 10-20 years.
The Classic and AA Brass actuators are made of Red Brass which has a high copper content and
has a life expectancy of somewhere between 50 and 100 years.
Q. What is the warranty on Champion
products?
A.
The warranty is 3 years from date of purchase.
Q. What is the difference between red and
yellow brass products?
A.
There are two kinds of brass on the market, yellow brass and red brass. Yellow brass is
made from a variety of metals such as zinc, tin etc. This gives the brass a yellow appearance
and has a life expectancy of somewhere between 10-25 years. However, red brass when compared to
yellow brass has a reddish look due to the high copper content (80-85%) and has a life
expectancy of 50-100 years. Note: Life expectancies assume clean water and environmental
conditions. Harsh water and/or environmental conditions may shorten the life expectancy of
brass products.
Q. Where can I get a replacement
instruction manual for my controller?
A.
Champion is working on making all of our instruction manuals available for download.

Q. What is the ideal water pressure for my
Champion sprinkler system?
A.
Champion recommends using a pressure regulator whenever your water pressure exceeds100psi. The
optimal water pressure for a Champion sprinkler system is from 60-90psi. You will experience
greater results in watering and overall longevity of the system if your water pressure is kept
within this range.
Q. Who do I contact if I have a question
about a Champion product?
